January 12th-19th, 2013 sees Polo in Nigeria lifted to new height yet again as Port Harcourt Polo Club hosts her annual polo tournament tagged, “NPF Niger Delta International Polo Tournament” and commissioning of the state-of -the-art 1200-seater pavilion.

This tournament promises to set new standards for polo in the country and inspire many to take up the game of kings.

The new year in Port Harcourt and indeed Nigeria usually heralds exciting new development but 2013 is truly exceptional. January 12th-19th, 2013 sees Polo in Nigeria  lifted to new height yet again as Port Harcourt Polo Club host her annual Polo tournament tagged, “NPF Niger Delta Iinternational Polo Tournament” and the commissioning of the state-of-the-art 1200-seater pavilion.


It’s my sincere conviction that the Port Harcourt Polo Club as one of the best polo club in the world today should be able to get its first slice of the tourism market through our all improved facility.
This tournament promises to set new standards for Polo in the country and inspire many to take up the game of kings, it promises to provide the platform for networking between investors, entrepreneurs and perfect showcase of the rich tourism potentials of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The world best players and teams from Dubai, South Africa and Nigeria, will converge for this must-attend polo tournament.
Finally, it is my singular privilege and honor on behalf of the trustees, management, tournaments committee and entire member of our great club, to welcome our dynamic patron Rt. Hon. The Port Harcourt Polo Club was established in 1972 by the Nigerian Army. It was later handed over to civilian management in 1974 and the club is duly recognized as a Polo playing Club by the Nigeria Polo Association.

The Club has, since its inception striven to encourage horse riding, equestrian sporting activities and of course the game of Polo. In this connection, it has been the culture of the club to host an NPA polo tournament yearly. The Club’s Tournament has become a major event in the social and tourism calendar in Port Harcourt and the entire South/South zone of the country.

The club is lucky to have one of the best polo playing fields in the country and is located along Tombia Street, G.R.A. Phase II, Port Harcourt. The Club’s premises a large polo field and practice field, paddocks, stables, lush green lawns, tree lined drive-way and serene club house.It provides a unique environment for relaxation, horse riding and polo playing.
